The 2-minute anatomy quiz

How well can you read the body when you teach or practice?

Take this two-minute quiz to get a snapshot of how you understand the body in yoga. There are no trick questions, and this isn’t a test of how good a teacher or practitioner you are. It’s a fun way to notice what you already understand, and what you might enjoy exploring next.

Meet your teacher, Stephania

Twenty years practitioner, half of which training teachers globally

Passionate about anatomy and biomechanics, Stephania has trained over a thousand aspiring teachers in the United States, India, Mexico and Spain, and has been the head teacher at Kootenay Yoga School since 2020. She has been an Iyengar practitioner for 20 years, and spends a few months a year in India with her teacher.

Stephania treats the body not as an instrument for achieving a shape, but as the place where the practice actually happens. Anatomy is a precise, learnable science, and as yoga teachers, it gives us the language for what we are looking at. Alignment and precision give us the framework for looking. Once you can read a body, what it is doing, where it is organizing itself, what an asana is really asking of it, the rest begins to make sense.

This is a place for people who intend to be students for life: teachers and practitioners who want to bring the body back into the practice.
